Compensation won for Army Major involved in road traffic accident
A serving Infantry officer was injured in a road traffic accident in London whilst cycling from work. As a result of the accident he sustained trauma to the head and a spinal fracture which lead to reduced movement in his arms and hands. The severity of the spinal injury meant that our client was forced to undergo surgical procedures and a continued period of rehabilitation in order to relieve his symptoms.
Thanks to the work of Irwin Mitchell solicitors, a settlement of £50, 000 was won, and the driver who caused the accident was successfully prosecuted for driving without due care and attention. Thankfully, despite the severity of his injuries, as a result of successful rehabilitation treatment, our client made an amazing recovery.
Although our client does have some residual limb weakness and could be disadvantaged on the open labour market, he was able to remain in the Armed Forces and has successfully returned to work.
