Compensation for cyclist injured due to careless driver

Our client, a sixty year old man suffered a dislocated shoulder when he was knocked from his bicycle by a van which was attempting to overtake him as he cycled along Alphington Road in Exeter.

The van failed to stop after the accident and drove off, leaving our client in the road.  Luckily, witnesses managed to take down the registration number of the van involved and the matter was reported to the police, who later established the name of the owner and driver.  This eventually resulted in a case being brought against the driver.

The driver eventually admitted liability for the accident and Irwin Mitchell’s specialist Road Traffic Accident team were delighted to recover £7,000 compensation in an out of court settlement, for the injuries our client suffered as a result of the accident.
