Compensation for cyclist after road traffic accident
Our client was cycling on a dry, sunny day when she was struck from behind by the Defendant who was driving a car. She was thrown to the ground, dazed and injured.
As a result of the accident, our client suffered a fractured right fibula which meant that she had to undergo a course of physiotherapy. She also developed phobic anxiety following the accident, and was also unable to ride her bike, drive her car, go walking, swimming, kayaking and climbing, activities which she had enjoyed previously. As a result of her injuries she was also restricted in the activities she could perform with her children and also had to employ a cleaner to help around the home.
The Defendant admitted liability and the case was settled out of Court in October 2011, with the Claimant recovering over £18,000 for the pain and suffering caused by her injuries and loss of earnings.
