Compensation for 72 year old pedestrian struck by bus

Irwin Mitchell's specialist Road Traffic Collision team have assisted a grandmother from Kent to obtain compensation after she was struck by a bus crossing the road.

Our client was a pedestrian, crossing the road, when the bus turned into the bus station and knocked her down. She suffered injuries in the accident including a broken ankle.

The bus company initially denied liability for the incident, however, once CCTV footage was released by them they made an offer of compensation exceeding £20,000.

Claire Bracewell of Irwin Mitchell represented the client and hopes that lessons are learnt by the bus company and accidents of this nature can be avoided in future.
